Information about Automotive spray paint all car manufacturer metallic colours
Product description
VerniciSpray professional metallic paint is ideal for touch-ups, scratches, and repainting, allowing you to restore your vehicle to a body shop-quality finish.
All our metallic and pearlescent automotive paints are produced using a digital tinting machine to ensure the best possible match with the original formulation.
These are custom-made products, meaning paints mixed on demand by a digital tinting system according to your original color code.
In this case: metallic paint with color code xsc1463 tibetan gold met.(vedi feu 1 9407).
Recommendations:
- Small color differences may occur. Always blend the repair and avoid creating sharp transitions between the new paint and the old one. A blending solvent can help achieve smoother fades.
- Use automotive paints at a temperature of around 20°C, never below 15°C, with humidity not exceeding 50%.
- Make sure that the paint or clear coat wets the surface properly, otherwise you may risk:
- Poor leveling
- Dry spray residue
- The classic orange peel effect on the surface
- To make painting easier, try the universal spray can handle .
- Finding the color code plate is essential to obtain the correct shade. If you are unsure about your vehicle's color code, you can contact us via WhatsApp or use the dedicated color code search panels .
How to use:
- Sand and thoroughly clean the surface before painting using an anti-silicone degreasing spray spray.
- Shake the paint for several minutes. The spray can temperature should be around 20-25°C.
- Spray the product evenly onto the surface in thin coats to prevent drips. Avoid applying the product from too far away
- Apply 2-3 coats and wait between coats until the paint becomes matte. Once the applied coat has turned matte, wait 5 minutes before applying the next coat.
- Apply the chosen protective clear coat.
- For a professional result, we recommend a 2K two-component clear coat , which dries through chemical catalysis.
- For small touch-ups or minor scratches on the bodywork, you can opt for a 1K single-component clear coat , which air-dries.
- For more information on the different types of clear coats and all their characteristics, please refer to the dedicated insights section .
Our metallic paint is a two-layer system, meaning it has a matte base coat and must be finished with a gloss clear coat.
The final car color will match the original only if a protective clear coat is applied on top.
Specific technical notes and warnings
- The coverage of one spray can is approximately 1 m² (2 layers).
- Paint can be removed using acetone and/or nitro thinner.
- Metallic colors also include mica and pearlescent finishes.
Frequently asked questions about this item
Our paints are all produced with a specific color analyzer, an innovating digital tinting machine. Such tintometer is used to replicate the exact match of the original color of your car.
Raw materials are selected based on sustainability and the latest environmental impact criteria. Gas, specifically, is not an oil-based product but is obtained by the fermentation of pure organic waste materials. It is certified to 99%.
The main physical characteristics of a good metallic paint are: high coverage and good adhesion.
High coverage
Car paints need to be highly covering for a simple reason: being able to reach a good color cover with only a few coats of paint helps to avoid unpleasant steps between the new color applied and the old one.
Adhesion
Metallic paints must also anchor well (after sanding a little bit and cleaning), because they must be able to support the clear coat (required). We can apply a mono-component clear coat or bi-component one (best option).
Every clear coat on our website is fully compatible with paints we produce. If you already have a clear coat from another manufacturer, we recommend to test it before application, because some may not be compatible.
We recommend for major repairs the two-component clear coat (2K), high gloss and high solid. For small repairs we recommend the one component (1K), as the 2k, once activated, after 24-48 h can no longer be used.
Protective clear coats are divided into two main categories: one-component and two-component clear coat. The main difference lies in how they are hardened, in other words, in the way they will dry once applied on the paint. Single-component clear coats are ready to use, while two-component clear coats require for the base and a catalyst to be mixed before application.
One component clear coat
Composition : it has within the spray can/jar all the necessary components to form the film that will make the product dry.
Drying : it hardens simply by evaporation of the solvent.
Pro : it's easy to use, ideal for small car touch up jobs and the product that is not used can be preserved over time.
Cons : is less resistant to chemical and mechanical agents than bi-component clear coat, it last less and has a tendency to fade or yellow over the years.
Two component clear coat
Composition : It requires a special type of cans that has a container isolated inside the spray itself. Such container is filled with hardener and can be activated at the time of use. In the jar, the mixture of the two components is divided as follows: a base (pigments and resin) and a hardener (hardener).
Drying : It hardens through a chemical reaction between the two components and forms a very resistant film.
Pros : It is highly resistant to scratches, chemical agents and mechanical stress. It last longer, over time, then a 1K clear coat. It has a better aesthetic result on the car touch up job.
Cons : It is more expensive, because it requires special spray cans. It has longer drying times and the instruments used to paint, need to be cleaned thoroughly.
Finally, two-component clear coats are recommended for jobs that require high strength and that need to last a longer over time, while one-component clear coats are more suitable for quick and easy applications.
